Now this one is one for the books for sure no doubt!
Let's start off by saying that you all looked so good ! We loved the florals the bright colors the braids ! You guys know how to dress for the occasion ! love it ! This was one of those moments where I was so happy even though something so bad/unfortunate was happening . And while some of you may not know what ACTUALLY HAPPENED here's a short recap: Since the beginning of the club I knew that looking for venues would be hard if not the MOST DIFFICULT part of running a club , I knew venues were going to be one of the toughest parts of running things , between spots charging us anywhere from $500 to $1,000, to needing permits just to let vendors set up, it's been a whole process. With that being said I took that and when we planned it at the Elk Grove park I called and spoke to a lady because I wanted to make sure that we were clear to host events at the park . When I spoke to her she asked me a bunch of questions and finished it off with well " I don't think you need a permit but well call back if we need anything else from you" I never received a call back so that was a green light , correct ? Apparently it wasn't? Their communication caused us an event and it was very frustrating because even the day of the event when we were with the rangers, the park staff on the phone, were straight up rude about the whole thing. Saying things like " you can make money off our park" "everyone pays taxes , thats everyone park" which was probably he most outrageous thing because we weren't "kicking" anyone out , we weren't taking over the whole park? lol Needless to say we were so distraught and disappointed with how the Elk Grove park reps handled it that we decided to NOT host events there anymore.
Thats the story lol but I do want to say a genuine thank you and apology to everyone who came out, and especially to our vendors who took time out of their day to be there with us for an event that didn't go the way we planned. And to our members I want to THANK YOU for just pushing through with us and being loyal, one of our goals for this club was to bring the community together and thats hard when not even the city has your back. Regardless thank you for staying the short period of time we were allowed to stay .
We're are so excited to see you all in July !
Thank you all <3
